Ombudsman recruitment to open

The next Ombudsman will be selected through an open recruitment exercise the Administration Wing announced today.

Incumbent Ombudsman Connie Lau informed the Government she will not renew her contract when her term expires in March 2019.

The Government thanked Ms Lau for her outstanding leadership over the years.

A selection board set up for the new Ombudsman will be chaired by Chow Chung-kong, with Fanny Law, Simon Ip and the Director of Administration as members.

Recruitment advertisements will be published in August to invite candidates to apply for the post.
