November exports dip 0.8%

The value of Hong Kong's total exports of goods decreased to $364.3 billion in November, down 0.8% on the same month last year, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.

The value of imports rose 0.5% over a year earlier to $409.3 billion in November.

A trade deficit of $45 billion, or 11% of the value of imports, was recorded in the month.

Comparing the three-month period ending November with the preceding three months on a seasonally adjusted basis, the value of exports decreased 1.4%, while that of imports fell 3.6%.
