New office conducive to prosperity

Chief Executive John Lee today said the formation of a Hong Kong and Macau work office under the Communist Party of China's Central Committee will be helpful to Hong Kong?s overall prosperity and stability.

Speaking to reporters in Beijing, Mr Lee said the new office will strengthen the leadership of the Central People?s Government in the faithful and successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle.

He said: ?The Central People?s Government is always thinking - close to the heart - of the well-being of Hong Kong and the well-being of Hong Kong citizens.

?So the formation of this office will certainly strengthen the implementation of policies in this regard and it will be helpful to Hong Kong?s overall prosperity and stability.?
