Hospital staff initially tests positive

Castle Peak Hospital today announced that a female clerical staff has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.

The clerical staff of the hospital's shroff counter sought medical treatment at a staff clinic on August 3 due to throat discomfort.

Her deep throat saliva test result released in the afternoon was preliminarily positive for the virus.

She had been working mainly at the shroff counter on the ground floor of Block D and had been wearing surgical masks while on duty.

Her last working date was July 31.

The hospital pointed out that there are partitions between staff members and the public for each shroff counter.

It will suspend the service of the shroff concerned on August 5 and conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection.
