Haughey makes Rio, breaks HK record


Teenage swimmer Siobhan Haughey has qualified for next year's Olympics in Rio by setting a new Hong Kong record in the 200m individual medley. The 17-year-old recorded a time of 2:13.07 at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia, beating the Olympic qualification standard by more than a second. Haughey became the first Hong Kong swimmer to gain direct entry to the Olympics by achieving an 'A' standard result. She also shattered her previous Hong Kong record, set at last year's Asian Games in Incheon, by 14 hundredths of a second.
