Foreign currency reserves stable

Hong Kong's official foreign currency reserve assets in July amounted to US$431.9 billion, unchanged from June, the Monetary Authority announced today.

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, foreign currency reserve assets at the end of July was US$424.3 billion, also unchanged from June.

The reserve assets represent more than seven times the currency in circulation or 47% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
