Exchange Fund external assets up

The Exchange Fund's foreign assets increased by $19 billion to $3.4885 trillion in December, the Monetary Authority announced today.

The monetary base amounted to $1.6326 trillion, while claims on the private sector in Hong Kong was at $261.8 billion.
