CS meets youth dev't advisers

Chief Secretary Matthew Cheung today met Youth Development Commission members to discuss the commission?s future direction.

Speaking to reporters after a tea gathering with more than 20 members, Mr Cheung described the discussion as open, constructive and useful.

They talked about ways to better gauge young people?s views and enhance the commission?s work.

Mr Cheung lauded members? contributions in the past 14 months, which included launching a discussion platform on facilitating young people?s social mobility.

He noted members agreed the commission should comprise of people from different ages and professions, and that it is worth considering having younger members on board.

Mr Cheung said the Government will continue to explore feasible ways to bring young people?s opinions into policy formulation.
