Composite interest rate drops

The composite interest rate dropped to 0.31% at the end of May from 0.32% at the end of April.

The Monetary Authority said the drop reflected a slight decrease in the weighted funding costs for both deposits and interbank funds during the month.

The composite interest rate is a measure of the average cost of funds of banks.
