Cash withdrawal cap rumours false

The Monetary Authority today dismissed rumours claiming it would cap daily cash withdrawal from banks.

It said the rumours are fake and unfounded, adding Hong Kong?s banking system is robust and sound with ample liquidity to meet the needs of the public.

The authority urged people to be cautious of rumours and verify information carefully.
