Alert issued on phishing scam

The Monetary Authority issued an alert today about a fraudulent email claiming to be sent by the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation.

The phishing email suggests the recipient saves and opens an attachment.

HSBC said it has no connection with the email.

Anyone who has provided personal information or conducted financial transactions through the email should contact the bank at 2748 8288 and Police at 2860 5012.
