$5.1b deficit recorded


The Government recorded a $5.1 billion deficit in April, the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau announced today.

 

It saw expenditure of $38.4 billion and revenues of $33.3 billion during the month.

 

Fiscal reserves stood at $1.0979 trillion as of April 30.

 

The bureau said the deficit was mainly due to major types of revenue, including salaries and profits taxes, being mostly received towards the end of a financial year.
