115 COVID-19 cases reported

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 115 additional COVID-19 cases, taking the number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong to 3,511.

 

The centre?s Communicable Disease Branch Head Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan told reporters at a press briefing this afternoon that all the new cases are locally transmitted.

 

She said among them, 79 are epidemiologically linked with local cases while 65 patients were infected via gatherings with family or friends.

 

The centre called on the public to avoid going out, social contact and dining out. It strongly urged the elderly to stay home as far as possible.

 
Additionally, the Hospital Authority reported that 1,176 confirmed COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised and 1,959 confirmed and suspected patients have been discharged.
